The CSE Group for the banking and financial market

The CSE's 2025-2027 Business Plan envisages an investment of approximately 110 million in innovations. Because regulatory evolution and technological drivers will continue to drive the transformation of the banking sector

Dott Vittorio Lombardi AD CSE TopVendorsCSE, together with its subsidiaries, is a leader in the provision of end-to-end solutions for the banking and financial services market in general, providing full outsourcing and Facility Management services for ICT systems, Business Process Outsourcing, functional, regulatory and organizational, Call Center and Help Desk services, as well as cyber security services and consultancy.

The CSE Group has a relational network of approximately 150 customers (Banks, SIMs, asset management companies, payment institutions and financial companies).

«We have a banking DNA, the Group being fully participated by 22 Banking Institutions, and we are not simply technology service providers, but we have the functional and ICT soul of our clients – reports Dr. Vittorio Lombardi, CEO of CSE. We have a single information system which, thanks to the modularity and new architectures adopted, allows us to provide services to intermediaries with very diversified management models, resulting in high synergies».

Technological drivers to grow

The technology used by CSE is a decisive strategic lever for the Institutes as it allows: improving operational efficiency, strengthening risk analysis and management, raising the quality of services, but above all, it contributes to consolidating relationships with customers.

Over the last ten years, investments in technology by Italian banks have grown significantly by increasing the resources dedicated to innovation, producing concrete results, with benefits also on customers, also making banking services more accessible despite the strong reduction in branches.

Regulatory compliance, also with the DORA

Regulatory evolution and technological drivers will continue to drive the transformation of the banking sector.

«Large» banks, thanks to greater financial resources and more robust organizational structures, can implement technological projects that are difficult to replicate by smaller operators, who however can use the investments/services of an operator such as the CSE, which also acts as a cost demultiplier.

Faced with these high transformations, the European Union, in November 2022, adopted the new DORA REGULATION (DIGITAL OPERATION RESILENCE ACT) which expressly refers to EU financial services.

The introduction of the DORA Regulation requires a paradigm shift in the Resilience and Operational Continuity strategies.

The increasing digitalisation of services, the increasingly high sophistication of threats, the growing cyber-crime, the use of new emerging technologies and international cyber campaigns, have recorded a significant increase in incidents both in terms of frequency and severity.

The CSE pays the utmost attention and makes high investments to combat cyber threats, also monitoring various external information sources.

The CSE carries out the Fraud Service for approximately 1,000,000 customers with approximately 110 million events monitored during the year.

CSE's anti-fraud platform uses AI to analyze customer behavior and triggers an Alert in the face of anomalies, revealing suspicious behavior in the digital operations of the Bank's customers. The anti-fraud platform assigns a risk score to the individual digital provisions which, together with other static parameters, allows the creation of anti-fraud rules aimed at intercepting possible frauds, also developing Predictive Models aimed at pre-identifying potential fraudulent events.

110 million euros in innovation until 2027

The technological revolution is now entering a new, faster and deeper phase, driven by the use of artificial intelligence and big data for typically banking activities, such as credit granting and the finance area.

Knowing how to integrate these new technologies into decision-making processes is increasingly crucial for competitiveness.

The CSE has approved a 2025-2027 industrial plan which provides for an investment in innovations of approximately 110 million; the aforementioned plan is based on multiple directions including Legacy Modernization, Omnichannel Banking, Credit and Finance.

Data are the real assets of Banks and the importance of data to support decisions is high and artificial intelligence and advanced statistical models can determine multiple changes in the management model of institutions. CSE adopts and makes available, progressively, all new technologies.

New skills to govern frontier technologies

A key element of the high transformation taking place is the evolution of skills.

New know-how to govern opportunities and new technologies; create innovative and effective solutions and expand skills for the management of increasingly complex projects, with increasingly structured, multifunctional and hybrid work teams (internal and external resources).

The CSE aims to have a structure with even higher, more efficient, flexible know-how, capable of better managing increasingly complex processes and customers and also motivated by a high sense of belonging.

«We are a solid and structured point of reference; we have the strength and financial solidity of a large Group with the aim of being active protagonists of the ongoing transformation and of playing the fundamental role of reducing costs to make them more sustainable, dividing them on a broad base of customers», concludes Lombardi.
