VEGA is a product for the integration between the various information environments that coexist within the Institute.

VEGA's goal is to operate on heterogeneous data, located on information bases of different subsystems, in order to create a global view of the data, establish the necessary connections and reprocess or merge certain information by producing new database structures designed on measure.

A fundamental feature of VEGA is to support any sequential database and, if suitably configured, to relate these databases to each other, regardless of the nature of the information contained therein.

By making a simple request to the terminal, VEGA is able to produce the desired response and display its content.

The system provides the user with the ability to select the desired data using extraction criteria (filters) to be customized with the data entered at the time of the request.

VEGA can be used both in the statistical field and in the organizational field for:

• queries on heterogeneous data;
• production of statistical reports;
• balancing and normalization;
• migrations of information systems;
• consultation of historical data.

The functionalities foreseen within VEGA can be framed in the phases of:

• configuration by the system administrator user "configurator" of VEGA;
• use by the management user.
• VEGA is intended for the organizational user to carry out statistical surveys on the trend of his customers or produce statistical reports for his governing bodies.
• Furthermore, VEGA is intended for managers of the Institute's IT organization as an aid tool for the restructuring of their database.
